Untitled, Wool, 2017-2018
This experimentation turned finished piece took place in Le Mans and Paris, France. The wool was crocheted in Paris and submerged in the Sarthe River running through Le Mans. It was left in the fast moving waters, tied beneath a short dock, for about 3 months. The water and debris transformed the white, sturdy wool into a fragile, flaking dark brown. Sticks, leaves, dirt, small stones, and insects lodged themselves into the fibers.
